Quilling Cards

One of the many unique lines folks seems to love at Grumbles House is our selection of Quilling Cards.  The intriguing paper filigree art form involves the use of thin strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and the coil-shaped, these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork. These cards and pictures are designed using high quality paper products, cut into 1/16 inch thin slices. The paper is then rolled, or shaped into different designs by skilled hands. These smaller designs are then assembled together to create a new larger figure, design, item, or shape. What is unique to the process is that the paper is not laid flat but is professionally glued and placed on its end. This allows the design to obtain a three-dimensional look. Just recently we’ve gotten in simple frames in 3 colors to better preserve and show off this art for years to come.  When you want a special card, consider a quilling card, $8.99, at Grumbles House
